Victorine Godonou has 4 children with ages between 25 and 10 and they are all students. Victorine is 50 years old and did not have the opportunity to finish elementary school. She is a producer of gari, a type of dough made out of cassava tubercles. She has been in this activity for 30 years. She employs up to 6 people and pays them well. Victorine sells her production in the markets of Ikpinie and Djebou. She buys cassava tubercles in the nearby fields. Victorine is a loyal customer of the microfinance insitutuion ACFB and she has always repaid previous loans on time. At present, she is applying for a loan to buy 60 sacs of cassava that will allow her to ensure a larger production of gari. The demand for her product is growing and she wants to ensure that she will be able to meet it. Victorine will use the profit to help her husband with the school fees and expenses and also to make some savings to increase the production capacity of her domestic unit.

Original text in French: Mariée et mère de 04 enfants dont les âges sont compris entre 25 ans et 10 ans tous scolarisés, Victorine est âgée de 50 ans. Elle est scolarisée et a abandonné l’école en classe de CE1. Depuis une trentaine d’année, elle exerce comme activité principale, la production de la farine de manioc “gari’’ à base des tubercules de manioc. Pour mieux gérer son unité de production, elle embauche 06 personnes qu’elle paie convenablement à la fin du processus. Sa production est livrée aux clients du marché d’Ikpinlè, et de Ita-Djèbou. Victorine s’approvisionne en manioc dans les champs du village de Siliko. Cliente fidèle de l’ACFB, elle a toujours respecté ses engagements vis-à-vis de l’institution. Ce prêt d’un montant de 800.000F CFA qu’elle demande lui servira à acheter 60 sacs de tubercules de manioc pour sa production afin de répondre aux besoins de sa clientèle. Le profit réalisé lui permettrait d’aider son mari pour les charges scolaires de leurs enfants et surtout d’épargner pour augmenter la capacité de production de son unité de fabrication.
