Loan description:

Ny Sin is 52 years old and married to Ms. Oun, who is shown in the photograph. They have four children, who are aged between 26 and 17 years old and only two of them are still at school. Ny and Oun live in a village in the Sangke district of Battambang province. They grow rice on around three hectares of land and produce two tonnes per hectare for sale. On a part of their land they are able to farm twice a year and they only need to wait around three months before they can harvest these crops for sale. Ny and Oun are really happy because they have been able to send their oldest son to university. The university is located in the town of Battambang, which is 30 kilometres away from their home. Since their working capital is limited at the moment they have applied for a twelve month loan in order to cover the university fees they need to pay now for their son and to purchase a computer for him to take to university. They will repay the loan using earnings from their farming activities.
