Martha Lucía Quezada Sánchez runs a market stall selling basic household foods such as rice, cooking oil, salt, cheese, pasta and sugar, as well as various vegetables such as onions and garlic. She has had the stall for the past 13 years and is 41 and married with four children. Her husband works for the local council in the town of Catamayo. Together they have started building their own home which is largely finished. Martha requested a loan in order to finance some interior work such as tiling and plastering. She will repay the loan over the next 12 months from the income she generates from her business.
