Loan description:
Gaylord Madrid has a business employing three full-time staff. He is 35 year and married with two young children aged 5 and 3. His son is in pre-elementary school while his daughter is still too young to attend school and is at home with his wife Rizza. He lives with his family in the village of Sangad which is in the town of Cabanatuan in Nueva Ecija province. where he also runs a very successful business. Gaylord has a shop selling liquid petroleum gas (LPG) tanks which are commonly used by most households for cooking. A tube is attached from the tank to the cooker. This is more efficient and safe than using charcoal or wood for cooking. Gaylord maintains a relatively large, dry and secure warehouse where he stores the products. Staff attend to customers and will deliver the gas tanks to customer's homes. Most households seek replacements every two months or so. He also delivers LPG tanks to several restaurants in the town who obviously consume at a much faster rate. His LPG business is approved by the local government and his products are supplied by trusted and legal suppliers. Gaylord has requested a larger loan amount from the microfinance organisation, Alalay sa Kaunlaran, of 100,000 Philippine pesos. He will use part of it to buy new stock but principally to put towards buying a new delivery vehicle. He intends to repay the loan over 12 months.
