Loan description:
Béatrice Avadja is 42 years old. She is married to a farmer and together they have 5 children. The youngest child is 4 years old and the eldest 18, all the children are students. Beatrice makes and sells soy and maize cheese. This cheese is made by making a soy and maize dough, cutting it and frying it in peanut oil. (See picture). This product is very popular in the area where she lives and people eat it with rice or gari (cooked cassava flour). Beatrice visits regularly the Ikpinie and Tatanoukon markets to buy soy beans and maize. She has been in this activity for 10 years and employs two girls to help her. She has been a customer of the microfinance institution ACFB for 4 years and has received and paid previous loans. She is applying for a new loan to be paid in 12 months that she will use to buy larger amounts of soy, maize and peanut oil. Buying in bulk she will get better prices. She will use the profits to pay for the children's education.
