Sivchen Rong is 18 years and married to Mr. Chet. They live in a village in the Banon district of Battambang province. Sivchen’s husband is a driver for a private company and earns around $250 per month. Her husband's work is predominantly in Battambang town, which is quite far away from their home. To improve their living conditions they have decided to build a new house in the village where they live. Since this requires a lot of cash upfront, which they don't have, they have sought the services of the local microfinance organisation and requested a twelve month loan in order to purchase cement, bricks, sand and to cover labour costs.
