Loan description:
Leab Roeurng is 57 years old and married with two children, who are aged 18 and 21 years old and both have their own jobs. Presently she lives in a village in Sangke district, which is in Battambang province. Leab and her husband (Po Minh) harvest two hectares of rice paddy and they are able to produce get around two tonnes of rice per hectare on this land since they can only produce wet season rice. To earn extra income for their family, Leab's husband also work as a construction worker in their village. He can earn around $5 a day doing this. To allow her husband to travel to/ from work on time then they decided to borrow a ten month loan in order to purchase a motorbike. This will allow them to generate a healthy working capital while they wait to farm again.
