Loan description:
Ana Francisca Pinta Aguirre is 43 and married with seven children, six boys and one girl. The youngest two are under the age of 16. Doña Ana has a stall in the market from where she sells chicken. She has had this business for the last seven years. Her husband works as a miner in a gold mine and he is away from home for weeks at a time. For more than 20 years Doña Anita and her husband were farmers growing maize, beans, tomatoes and peppers. They left farming because it was risky at times and although it was profitable occasionally they made losses. Doña Anita is proud that she and her husband have ensured that their children have received a good education and almost all of them have professional jobs. She requested a loan in order to buy more chicken meat to sell - December is her busiest month as traditionally most families eat chicken for their Christmas meal.
