Loan description:
Sakakna Sun is 25 years old and married with one daughter, who is four years old. Sakakna and her family live in Banon district in Battambang province. Sakakna is a young entrepreneur who has been managing her own general store for the past four years. Her shop is full of a variety of products such as clothes, shoes, white sugar, salt, cooking oil, pure drop water, soft drinks, vegetables, meat, ice and toys. Since starting her business, Sakakna has been really satisfied since her shop is situated in a busy place and she can earn around $100 to $150 a day selling her goods. Her shop is busiest in the morning and in the evening. Her shop is along the main road where commuters and villagers can easily stop to buy things from her shop. With the assistance of her husband, Sakakna is able to manage the shop full time while her husband travels to buy new stock from Battambang town, which is around 20 kilometres away from their home. To meet the demand of her existing customers and attract more, Sakakna has applied for a loan in order to purchase new stock in bulk. She plans to totally replenish her stock and purchase more items such as cooking oil, white sugar, pure drop water and soft drinks. She promises to repay this loan over 12 months. She also has another plan to expand her stock and start selling fertiliser in the next year.
