Loan description:
Saloun Kham is 38 years old and married with five children. Her children are aged between 23 and 5 and her three younger children study at the local government school while her two older children have their own jobs. Saloun and her family live in Thmor Korl district in Battambang province. Saloun has been running a general store from her home for the past three years. She sells various items such as soft drinks, cooking oil, soy sauce, diesel and gasoline. She generally buys her stock directly from the local market and she uses her motorbike to collect these goods. The majority of her customers are people who travel past her shop along the main road. As her working capital is limited, she has applied for a loan in order to renew her inventory of stock. She expects to repay this loan over seven months.
