Ximena Elizabeth Granda Briceño is 37 and married with three children. Doña Ximena finished her secondary school education and got married when she was 18. Her husband works as a driver. He struggled to cover all household needs with his income alone so Doña Ximena decided to start selling cosmetics, including well known brands such as Avon and Yanbel. She has a catologue which she distributes to potential customers and then returns to take orders. With their savings Doña Ximena and her husband managed to buy a pick-up. She used to travel by foot handing our the catologues to friends, family and neigbours, but as her business has developed she now has a stall in the local market where she stocks some products and can also take orders. From the stall she has also branched out to sell ceramic handicrafts. She requested a loan in order to buy new stock. The loan is for eight months.
