Loan description:
Akuwa is 44 years and lives in a town called Adidoadin. She is single and has two children, who are aged 22 and 14, and are both at school. Akuwa specialises in the resale of goods from Europe, such as fridges, cups and beds. She buys these products from the Port in Lomé and is the sole manager of this business. Akuwa sells these products from a stall in her home district. Her stall is open all day and serves local homeowners who have a high standard of living. To continue providing high quality products to her customers, Akuwa has decided to seek a loan from the microfinance institution, WAGES, to purchase more of the same products as well as diversify her products by including other products such as stoves and microwaves. She wants to use this loan, her first with the institution, to meet the current demands of her customers as well as generate higher profits and expand her business. She will repay this loan over 15 months.
