Loan description:
Daisy Jane Sala is 28 and married with two children. The eldest is 7 while her youngest is just a few months old. Her husband Ryan is 36 and is a policeman. The family lives in the neighbourhood of Cantuod which is in the town of Balamban in Cebu province. Daisy is a young entrepreneur who owns a business in the town centre. Three years ago, with the help of her husband, she opened a cafe where she serves food and drinks throughout the day. The cafe has grown and is called ‘Senyang Snack Corner’ and currently employs a total of eleven full-time staff. Usually the cafe serves bread, snacks, bottled juices, biscuits, ice cream and fresh coconut drinks. The cafe is kept clean and prices are kept low to bring as many people through the door as possible. She keeps some items within chilled cabinets and refrigerators. The cafe has several chairs and tables so that customers can sit down to eat. As the business has grown, Daisy primarily acts as the cashier and manager while her staff serve customers and cook. Daisy has been a client of the microfinance institution Lamac Multi Purpose Co-operative for the past two years. She requested a loan in order to buy food and ingredients in bulk for the cafe. Daisy intends to repay the loan over twelve months.
