Nat Hong is 58 years old and married with five children, who are aged between 36 and 22 years old. His four older children are married and his youngest is single. Nat’s family lives in Ous Thouk village, which is in Sangke district, Battambang province. Nat has been a fisherman nearly his whole life and mainly engages in this activity during the rainy season. When he his not fishing, he also looks after cows and buffaloes for people in his village. He charges $5 a month to look after one cow. At the moment he is looking after 15 cows and can earn around $75 a month doing this. To earn a better income for his household, he has taken out a loan in order to buy two cows for raising from his home. Over one year, his cows will deliver their calves. He aims to repay this loan over ten months.
