Germania Torres is 33 and a single mother with a 15 year old son. She lives in the town of Catamayo and her son attends college. She used to be a housewife, but after separating from her partner she sold vegetables in the town's central market for around five years. However, she found it hard work and increasingly less profitable. She therefore decided on selling cosmetics. Despite the fact that many other women have the same business she has found it to be profitable, especially valuing the fact that she can choose when and where to work. She also sells beads and cheap jewellery. Doña Germania requested a loan in order to buy more perfumes and skin creams. Her wish is to one day be able to own her own home.
