Ecuador
Loan description:
Together with his wife, Lino Fernando Paucar has a business raising and then selling chickens, ducks and guinea pigs (which is a popular meat in many Andean countries but particularly Ecuador and Peru). When he was much younger he worked cutting sugar cane in a local sugar factory. They sell the animals at the weekly farmers markets in Catamayo. Lino and his wife have eight children, five of whom still live with them and two of these are still in full time education. Their hope is that these continue to obtain professional employment one day and also that they manage to buy their own home. Their other sons also work cutting sugar cane. Lino requested a loan in order to buy more animals and feed in bulk.
