Alain, 40, is a married father with 5 children, of which 3 are at secondary school and 2 are at primary school. Having initially completed a diploma as a car mechanic, Alain has spent the past 20 years running a business selling spare car parts on order for clients. On top of this, he also sells petrol and manages an ironmongery workshop. He now has 2 establishments, one in Kpédekpo and the other in Massè, situated not far from the market. In order to manage his businesses well, Alain employs 2 people who he pays appropriately at the end of each month, but he is also helped by his children on their days off. She sources his stocks from a market in Nigeria and sometimes from the one in Cotonou. Having always honoured his commitments towards the microfinance institution ACFB, he is currently seeking a loan for 700,000 CFA which he will use to expand his stock of spare parts. Alain is also currently considering opening a cement plant because there is no supplier for this in his area. However there is strong demand for it so he thinks it will be a profitable venture. This would also strengthen the labour market as he would be able to offer work to the young people in his village. Alain envisages that the loans will help strengthen his capital, improve the living conditions of his family and enable him to save to purchase his own plot of land to build on.

Marié et père de 05 enfants dont 03 élèves et 02 écoliers, Monsieur HOUNDJO est âgée de 40 ans. Après avoir eu son diplôme en mécanique auto, il a laissé cette activité pour indisponibilité. Il a pour activité principale depuis environ une vingtaine d’année la vente des pièces détachées, des motos sur commande des clients. En plus de ces activités, Alain commercialise aussi le pétrole et gère une quincaillerie. Il dispose déjà deux boutiques, l’une à Kpédekpo et l’autre à Massè situé non loin du marché.  Pour une gestion efficace de ses activités, il embauche déjà 02 personnes qu’il paie normalement à la fin de chaque mois, mais se fait aider aussi par ses enfants aux jours de repos. Il s’approvisionne sur le marché du Nigéria et parfois sur celui de Cotonou. Ayant toujours honoré ses engagements vis-à-vis de l’ACFB, il sollicite actuellement un prêt de 700.000FCFA qui consistera à l’achat des pièces détachées pour moto, et du nécessaire pour la quincaillerie. Alain envisage aussi l’ouverture très prochaine d’une cimenterie car dans son village qui n’en dispose pas. La demande à ce niveau est forte et il pense que c’est un très bon projet qui sera à coup sur très rentable. Ce qui implique le renforcement de la main d’œuvre pour mieux satisfaire ses clients potentiels donc des emplois à offrir aux jeunes de son village. Le bénéfice obtenu lui permettrait d’augmenter son capital, aider sa famille à améliorer sa condition de vie et surtout à économiser pour l’achat d’une nouvelle parcelle ainsi que pour sa construction.
