Hedija Softic was born in 1965 in the northern Bosnian city of Tuzla. She lives with her husband in Lukavac which is some miles to the east of Tuzla - her two daughters are married and live separately. Hedija produces and sells handicrafts, in particular handmade tablecloths, cloths that fit on the top of sofas and also curtains. She has had this home based business for the last 20 years and has longstanding and permanent customers. Hedija applied for a Ioan in order to buy thread, cloth and other materials in bulk so that she can meet pending orders. The loan is for 18 months.
