Loan description:

Silifa, 40, is a married mother with 8 children, of which 3 are presently at secondary school. Silifa has been a trader in fried and smoked fish for a long time. She purchases the fresh fish from the markets in Pobè, Kpédékpo and Ounhi. She then cleans it and prepares it for frying or smoking. Silifa runs this business from a small production unit in her home. Having cleaned the fresh fish, she slows cooks it on wire grills or in hot oil and then resells it on the markets at Massè, Holli, Sagon and Aïzè. Four of her children help her to run the business and serve customers. Having been a beneficiary of the microfinance organisation ACFB for several years, she is currently seeking a loan for 350,000 West African francs so that she can expand her stocks and does not find herself left without any. The ensuing profits will, as usual, help her to meet current household expenses and will especially help with her children’s school fees and to save for the further development of the business.
