Suada Pasalic is from Gracanica in northern Bosnia. She was born in May 1967. She is a single mother having divorced from her husband and has one son who is at school. Suada has some land and she grows vegetables. Bosnia enjoys fine weather for around six months every year from April through to September. Her son helps her also from time to time and her focus is very much on ensuring he receives a good education. She applied for a loan from the microfinance organisation 'Women for Women International' in order to buy quality vegetable seeds but mainly to buy chickens and chicken feed. She expects to be able to sell chickens every 2-3 months or so. The loan is repayable over 18 months.
