Loan description:
Behara Jasarevic is 60 years old. She lives with her husband in the village of Tupkovic near Zivinice in northern Bosnia. Her husband is retired and receives a small pension. However, it does not cover their household costs so they are always looking for extra income earning opportunities. Behara raises chickens which are sold eventually for their meat and also cows from which she sells the milk. Additionally Behara knits and sells wool socks She has already received and repaid one loan from the microfinance institution Women for Women International and applied for a new one in order to buy another cow. There is a good market for milk and she would receive a premium price for a greater quantity of milk sold from the dairy. The loan is for 18 months.
