Loan description:
Joffie Bullanday is 38 years old and married with a 12 year old son who is currently attending secondary school education at Dumagoc in the town of Pagadian, in the province of Zamboanga Del Sur. Her husband is a 62 year old man named Fausto who is a motorcab operator in the area. Through the past earnings of her beloved husband, Joffie was able to build a small grocery store business in front of their residence that serves as an additional source of income for their family. She is engaged in buying a number of consumable merchandise in the town centre and then reselling it at a small mark-up. Most of her offerings are biscuits, powdered drinks, canned goods and condiments. She has run this business for more than a year now. She was able to build small wooden shelves inside her store upon which she displays her products. The loan she is seeking from the microfinance organisation, Maranding Women Investors Multi-Purpose Cooperative is for the acquisition of additional supplies of commodities in the store. In this way, she could provide a wider choice of products for her neighbours and community at the most affordable prices. She plans to save her earnings for the college studies of her child. She hopes that eventually she will become an owner of a mini-mart in the area. She is willing to repay the loan amount over a short period of six months.
