María Paola Parra is 23 years old and single. Together with her sister she owns and runs a beauty salon. She studied a cosmetics and beauty course. María Paola found it very difficult to begin with but after four years her business is now quite successful with lots of regular customers. She spends her free time making clothes because she enjoys fashion. Her mother helped her to start the business and she now in turn helps her mother with household expenses. She has sought a loan from the microfinance organisation Fundacion FACES in order to buy more equipment for her salon. She wants to be able to offer employment to other family members as the business grows.
