Olga Jaramillo is 43 years old and married with four children. She lives in a rural area of the province of Catamayo called Indiucho. Her husband is a small-scale farmer. Two of her children have special needs and she pays for them to receive therapy. She sells vegetables including cassava, plantains, and potatoes from her market stall in the town of Catamayo. She has received and repaid several loans from the microfinance institution Fundacion FACES. She uses the loans as working capital in her business. Olga and her husband have managed to construct their own home on a plot of land they bought. She intends to repay the loan over six months.
