Loan description:
Monaliza Ygot is 47 years old and married with two children who are aged 22 and 14. Her eldest child has already graduated from college in a Hotel and Restaurant Management course while her youngest child is currently at high school. Monaliza and her family live in the neighbourhood of Poblacion, which is in the town of Daanbantayan in Cebu province. Monaliza runs a small restaurant that offers delicious meals and dishes to people in the local area everyday. Monaliza has been running this eatery for ten years already and has gathered a number of regular customers including students, taxi drivers, workers and vendors from the market. She also employs two full-time staff who help her cook the food and serve the customers. The dishes are placed at the front of the eatery while a number of chairs and tables are at the back. Monaliza always ensures that her eatery is clean and her food prepared in a hygienic way so that she maintains the continued patronisation of her valued customers. The microfinance organisation, First Consolidated Cooperative, has supported Monaliza's business for almost a year and this time the institution has given her a new loan to assist her in buying more ingredients for her daily cooking activities. Monaliza wants to use her income to send her youngest child to school until he finishes college. She has promised to repay this loan over a period of three months. This loan will help Monaliza be one step closer to achieving her dream of making her restaurant bigger and more successful.
