Loan description:

Pov Sok is 49 years old and married to Vanna Soeurn. They currently have five children, aged between 19 and 2 years old. The two younger children attend the local school while the elder three have their own jobs. They live in Thmey village, Kampong Prieng commune in Sangke district, Battambang province. They have spent their lives as farmers for the past 18 years and at the moment farm five hectares of rice. The yield gives them between 2.5 to 3 tons per hectare; they keep two tons of this rice for their own basic needs and sell the remainder to local traders. To expand their business Pov and his wife have decided to apply for a loan to buy one more hectare of rice paddy in order to grow more rice. They expect to repay this loan over a period of nine months. In the future they want to get a pond so that they can stock water for their rice and also get fish to sell.
