Loan description:

Andja Avdalovic is 58 years old and a widow. She lives in Sarajevo together with her two sons. Her younger son goes to secondary school and her elder son works part-time during the summer season. She inherited a pension from her husband but it isn’t enough to meet all of her living and household expenses; she would especially like to increase her income for her son’s schooling. Henceforth Andja started a small business selling her own handmade items. She knits slippers, socks, crochets tablecloths and makes candles for church. She sells all of these products in her neighborhood and is sometimes helped by her friend. She is well known in the area, which helps her sales and provides her with a secure market and income. With this business she is able to earn a significant income. She is now going to buy eggs and colour them for Easter; she already has a lot of orders. This is why she applied for a loan from the microcredit foundation, Women for Women International. She has already received two loans in the past. She is a great worker and fighter and a very nice and cheerful person. She is very pleased because she can provide a better life for herself and her sons.
