Loan description:
Chenda Hak is 39 years old and married with four children, who are aged between two and 16. Chenda and her family live in Boskhnor village, which is in Banon district, Battambang province. Chenda and her husband are farmers and have been farming for the past 15 years. They currently farm five and a half hectares. The yield gives them around two and a half tonnes per hectare and they stock two tonnes of this for their family's basic needs. They sell the remainder directly to a local trader. To expand their farming business, Chenda and her husband have decided to apply for a loan to buy another hectare of rice paddy. With this one hectare of rice paddy, they hope to grow crops such as maize as well as rice since it is close to the irrigation system. They expect to repay this loan over nine months. They hope to own a small hand tractor to operate their farm in the future.
