Bunroeurn Nhoeurn is 33 years old and a father of two sons, who are aged nine and four. Bunroeurn's eldest child is at school while his youngest is still too young to go to school. Presently they live in Thmey village, which is in Sangke district, Battambang province. He is a farmer and farms three hectares of rice paddy located three kilometres away from his home. The yield generally gives him about three tonnes per hectare and he needs to keep one tonne of this for his family's basic needs and sells the remainder to a local miller. To build a better home for his family to live in, Bunroeurn has applied for a loan to buy wood and zinc to build a new house for his family. He promises to pay this loan back over five months.
