Loan description:
Edna Gibertas is a 53 year old married woman with a 20 year old son who attends college. Her husband is a 55 year old man named Isaac who works as a driver and is also a local official. They all live in the rural area of Aurora in the town of Taganaan, which is in Surigao Delo Norte province. To assist her husband in seeking a source of income for their daily needs and for the studies of their daughter, Edna built a small grocery store business using a small amount of capital from her past savings. She then started to sell a wide variety of consumable items including condiments, powdered drinks, coffee, toothpaste, canned goods and hygiene products. With the help of 3 close relatives, Edna manages to cater for all the needs of her customers and is able to regularly re-stock the business whenever she needs to. The store is located near their house and has now been operating for 8 long years. She recently received a loan from the microfinance organisation, Surigao Economic Development Foundation, which she will use to purchase additional stocks of biscuits and sodas. She has been a member of the microfinance institution for 7 years and has repaid 14 previous loans. She will use her earnings for the continuing education of her son, but will deposit a part in her savings account at SEDFI. Edna will continue to accommodate and approach her valued customers with joy and give them the highest quality of service. She is willing to repay the loan over a period of six months.
