Loan description:
Mach Chhen is 33 years old and married to Samart Song. They have five children, aged between 16 and 6 years old; two of them attend the government school. They live in Anlong Svay village, Takream commune in Banon district, Battambang province. They are farmers and own one hectare of rice paddy, but the yield from this is only enough for their own consumption. To earn extra income for their household, for several years now they have run another business raising pigs from their home. Their business has been developing well: during the first year they raised one pig and they now have three female pigs. They call buyers to negotiate the price for the sale of their pigs. They use commercial feed and rice bran for their animals. They are now requesting a loan in order to buy some piglets, commercial feed and to pay for the vaccination of their pigs. They have committed to repaying this loan over nine months.
