Loeurt Khut is 44 years old and a father of two children, who are aged 19 and 20. Both of Loeurt's children are currently getting a full time education at the local school. Presently, Loeurt and his family live in Banon village, which is in Banon district, Battambang province. Loeurt is a farmer and owns two hectares of farming land. This year, the yield provided him with about three tonnes per hectare and he stocked one tonne of this rice for his family. He generally sells the remainder to a local rice miller. Apart from farming, Loeurt also buys and sells rice as a tradesman. Two or three days a week, Loeurt stocks a great amount of rice and uses his car to deliver it to rice millers who have contracted his services. To run this business Loeurt needs a healthy cash flow so he can buy the rice to sell. He has applied for a loan in order to get enough working capital to buy rice for sale. Loeurt will pay his loan back over ten months.
