Loan description:
Fatima Ibrahimkadic is 38 years old and married. She lives with her family in Medakovo, which is near the small city of Tesanj. They have three sons aged 17, 13 and 11, who all go to school. Her husband works but his income is not enough to meet their household expenses nor especially the expense of schooling their children. Therefore Fatima decided to start a business in farming and raising livestock. She has a smallholding where she grows cucumbers, corns and potatoes. She then sells these products to local people that she has an agreement with. Besides this, she has a cow and a bull. She produces milk and homemade cheese, which she sells to local people and neighbours. She is expecting a calf to be born soon. Fatima is a hardworking, modest and honest person. She has managed to successfully expand her business and is very pleased with it. The business brings in a lot of income which she can use to cover the expense of schooling the chlidren and the rest of their household expenses. She has already received one loan from the microcredit foundation Women for Women International and she has now applied for a new one. She needs this loan so that she can prepare soil for sowing and buy cucumber seedlings.
