An lives in Osrolao village, which is in Sangke district, Battambang province. An is a farmer and owns only 1,600 square meters of rice paddy. The yield provides her with her basic needs. To help her expand in the farming sector, An has applied for a loan in order to get a great working capital and enable her to grow maize. With this loan and with the assistance of her children, she will be able to tend to this business full time. With this loan An and her children will buy seeds, insecticide and weed killer and pay for the cost of ploughing. She promises to pay the loan back over eight months.
