Loan description:
Chok Nheb is 34 years old and married with four children. His children are aged between 1 and 15 years old and his two elder children are currently studying at the local school. They live in Changho Svay village, Cheng Meanchey commune, Banon district, Battambang province. Chok and his wife, Pov Voeng, are farmers and have been farming for over 20 years. They now farm five hectares of rice paddy. Every year the yield gives them about two and a half tonnes per hectare and they keep two tonnes for their own consumption and sell the remainder to a trader. To farm successfully every year, they need a healthy working capital so they have sought a loan in order to buy insecticide and to help pay for the harvesting cost and ploughing cost. They aim to return the loan over five months (the photographs show Chok's wife, Pov).
