Loan description:
Ren Roeurm is 51 years old and married with five children. His children are aged between 7 and 26 years old. His four younger children are currently at school and his eldest child is married and lives separately. Ren and his family live in Sdey Krorm village, which is in Ek Phnom district, Battambang province. Ren is a fishmonger and has been selling fish for over 21 years. His wife, Phoeurn Neam, is a tailor and she runs a small tailor shop from their home. Ren buys fish directly from villagers along Tonlesap Lake by using his boat and he comes back with around 500 to 1000 kilograms of fish everyday. He also hires one villager to help him with his business. They don’t need to sell fish at the market because most of their buyers come to their home. To get a healthier working capital, they have applied for a loan in order to buy a great amount of fish to sell. A small part of the loan will be used to buy material for his wife's tailor shop. They aim to repay the loan within 12 months (The photographs show his wife sewing Khmer Traditional clothes)
