Cambodia
Loan description:
Samoeurn Lay is 25 years old and married with two children. They are 9 and 5. The eldest attends the local state school while the youngest is still at home with her. Samoeurn and her husband, Touch Kouy who is 28, have owned a milling machine for over three years. It is quite a small machine but it does nevertheless provide them with regular income as most people in her community are rice farmers. Unfortunately, heavy flooding affected most parts of Cambodia towards the end of 2010 and the machine was submerged by water. The machine was damaged and no longer works. Samoeurn applied for a loan in order to fix the milling machine. She intends to repay the loan over six months.
Loan added: 5 January 2012
