Emerito Custodio is 29 years old and single. He lives in the neighbourhood of Villahermosa, Tabuelan in Cebu province. Although he does not have any dependents he helps meet the educational costs of other relatives. He has a small business rearing and selling chickens and goats. He started about six months ago and employs four other people in the business. He keeps the animals on a large open area of land beside his house and they are allowed to roam freely. When the animals are fully-grown, Emerito sells them to local merchants. However, the animals also provide him with milk and eggs. He is member of the microfinance organisation, First Consolidated, and applied for a loan in order to purchase fresh grass for the goats and chicken feed. He has plans to build more coops for the animals. Emerito also hopes to purchase a bicycle multi-cab. The loan is for six months.
