Nermina is 51 years old and a widow. Her husband was killed in the Srebrencia massacre in 1995. She has three sons and lives in Potocari. Her eldest son works in the Cimos factory in Srebrenica while her youngest son is still in high school, she has hopes that he will be able to go on and continue in further education. She hopes that her second son will soon be able to find a job also. She wants all three of them to be good and respectable citizens. Nermina is a client of the microfinance institution ‘Zene za Zene’ or Women for Women. She sought a loan to buy seeds and other inputs in order to grow vegetables in a greenhouse. This is her third loan and she has proved to be a reliable borrower, always repaying promptly and in full.
